Former Mothercare Headquarters, Watford

Namis Facades delivered the external wall insulation and render package for the conversion of the former Mothercare headquarters in Watford, Hertfordshire, into a new residential development of 178 flats. The change of use required a substantial external envelope package suitable for the building's new residential use.

Scope of works

Our contract covered the supply and installation of approximately 2,100m² of a 110mm Wetherby external wall insulation and render system incorporating A1-rated ROCKWOOL mineral wool insulation. Coordinated material deliveries, controlled sequencing and detailed quality management kept the facade works aligned with the wider office-to-residential conversion programme.

Installation & site management

At peak periods more than 15 operatives were working on the package. Close coordination between our site management team, installers and the development team kept the works on programme and on budget across a large, complex facade area.

Quality & handover

The works were completed in June 2023, on time and on budget, and handed over with zero recorded defects and no snagging list requiring remedial works — a clean handover that reflects our focus on getting large EWI and render packages right first time.
