How we work
Survey & system spec
We match the system to your substrate and exposure — K Rend Silicone, Weber, PRB or Fassa — and quote fixed.
Basecoat & reinforcement
Polymer basecoat with embedded alkali-resistant mesh over the whole elevation — the crack-resistance layer.
Primer & silicone topcoat
Tinted primer then the 1.5mm silicone finish floated to an even texture — 6–10mm total build-up.

Thin coat acrylic and silicone rendering
Thin Coat Silicone Render Systems offer exceptional water resistance, flexibility, and durability against the elements as an external coating, available in over 1000 colours. This product is also referred to as Acrylic Render and Thin Coat Render.
Thin coat silicone render systems have been specially developed for direct applications onto render carrier boards or onto external wall insulation systems can also be applied directly onto suitable masonry substrates and are available in the extensive range of colours, finishes . Using the anti-crack base coat technology provides excellent weatherproofing and adhesion.
This render system is built up through the application of two coats of pre-bagged base coat reinforced with imbedded glass fibre mesh fabric and a sponge finish, followed by a single layer of silicone-based thin coat render, known as the Top Coat.
Thin coat silicone rendering systems are probably most common in 1.5mm finishes but available in a number of different aggregate size finishes and vary from 0.7mm to 5.0mm depending on the manufacturer but start to lose their “self-cleaning” abilities the higher the aggregate size. Being “self-cleaning” and flexible systems , indeed crack-resistant , thin coat silicone render suitable for application onto timber frame buildings as well as SFS structures using a render board became an increasingly popular service we carry out on both new construction and refurbishment projects.
Known by various names, including Thin Coat, Silicone Render, Acrylic Render and Bucket Coat this rendering system offers a wide spectrum of colour options, with the ability to tint according to your specific requirements.
As a basic guideline, it is estimated that a Thin Coat Silicone Render System is approximately 30% costlier than Monocouche Spray Render. This increase in cost can be attributed to the more expensive materials required and the extended duration of the application process.
If you would like to visualize your project appearance in different colours and shapes then the Facade COLOUR Simulator is here to help where you can try out various colours of the silicone render or monocouche render finish.

Silicone Thin Coat Render — your questions answered
Silicone costs roughly 25–35% more than monocouche supply-and-fit — £60–£75 per m² against £50–£65. The premium reflects two extra coats (base coat, mesh and finish), a far wider colour range and a longer expected lifespan with no repaint cycle.
Silicone render lasts for decades, with long-term manufacturer warranties provided on the manufacturer's own terms. Because the topcoat is paint-free and self-cleaning, you avoid the 5–10 year repaint cycle of traditional render.
Silicone systems offer well over a thousand colour options — far beyond the smaller monocouche palette. The polymer topcoat is colour-stable and hydrophobic: rain beads off and carries surface dirt with it, keeping the finish clean for decades.
Yes — older solid-wall homes need vapour-permeable systems so moisture can escape rather than being trapped in the wall. We match the system to the substrate: lime-friendly and breathable renders for period properties, modern polymer systems for cavity-wall and blockwork homes.
