Yes — older solid-wall homes need vapour-permeable systems so moisture can escape rather than being trapped in the wall. We match the system to the substrate: lime-friendly and breathable renders for period properties, modern polymer systems for cavity-wall and blockwork homes.

Usually not — re-rendering in a similar finish falls under permitted development for most houses. You DO need consent if the property is listed, in a conservation area with an Article 4 direction, or a flat. External wall insulation that changes the appearance may also need approval — we advise on this at survey, free of charge.

We work year-round. Spring and autumn offer the best curing conditions thanks to moderate temperatures and lower humidity, while winter projects may take slightly longer because render needs specific temperatures to cure — but they often start sooner.

We agree a payment plan based on project size. In general a 40% deposit secures your start date, books the installation team and gets materials delivered to site — the balance follows the schedule agreed in your quote.

EWI on a semi-detached property takes about two weeks. Thin-coat silicone rendering is typically completed in a week, and monocouche spray render takes just 3–4 days on a semi-detached house thanks to the efficiency of the spray pump.

Rendering is inherently messy work, but we protect your property throughout, minimise disruption and clean up thoroughly afterwards — only minor residual material traces may remain.

Fixtures, pipes and cables need extending or removing to accommodate the new render, plus scaffold access. Our own dedicated team can handle scaffolding, removal and refitting of rainwater pipework and fixtures — usually more cost-effective than hiring subcontractors separately.
